Job Title: Product Engineer Seating System [Job Code: 191060]

Job Description:

  • Responsible for the engineering and design of complete automotive seats which includes Structures, mechanisms, foam and plastics.
  • Design and development of complete seats from concept through production release.
  • Design and development support, testing support, validation and development of new seating systems.
  • Packaging studies, Feasibility studies, Environment studies, safety and regulatory studies, Design for Manufacture and assembly etc using CATIA or Unigraphics NX9 or later.
  • Evaluate seat & mechanism kinematics, FEA analysis, and interpret results.
  • Support Prototyping and product validation testing.
  • Design Optimization for weight, cost and part count.
  • Create drawings and apply GD&T, Critical and Significant Characteristics.
  • Create Engineering documents like BOM's, Open issues lists, Mass & strength calculations, DFMEA, DVP&R and so on.
  • The engineering deliverables includes product design, CAD Models, drawings, product specification, DFMEA, DVP&R, functional objectives, Pugh analysis, root cause analysis, Best Practices, benchmarking information etc.
  • Perform tolerance studies and assembly stack evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in areas of Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in relevant areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Strong organizational, program management, leadership and communication skills required.
  • Result oriented, energetic self-starting leader with ability to work across cross-functional teams

Job Title: Product Engineer PCB Design [Job Code: 190858]

Job Description:

  • Design printed circuit boards that meet internal requirements. Perform PCB layout for all types of boards and understand architecture.
  • Work with electrical engineers to design circuit boards assemblies. Develop Low level circuit design.
  • Work with mechanical engineers on the mechanical-electrical packaging.
  • Manage and track failures, root cause and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support quick-turn board builds with PCBA contract manufacturers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in areas of Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in relevant areas.
  • Experience in automotive electronics (motor drivers etc.) and vehicle communication systems.
  • Knowledge of available products in market.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point

Job Title: Design Engineer [Job Code: 190856]

Job Description:

  • Plans, performs, and manages the design, development, and transfer to manufacturing of new programs which may include lamps that must meet the requirements of more than one market.
  • Establishes and maintains DFMEA’s, DVP’s and design micro-schedules as required per company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that product launch team meets design and development timing schedule established by the customer.
  • Gathers all of the data required to create drawings that meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Reviews drawings prior to going into checking department to ensure that drawings are complete and design intent is clearly represented.
  • Reviews all product drawings with designers and product launch team to ensure that all processes and tolerances are correct and achievable, manufacturing can process and build production design, and all customer requirements can still be met, including GD&T and SPC.
  • Ensures that design validation testing is performed, and that all changes resulting from any test failures are completed.
  • Oversees change management for the project, both customer and internal driven via ECR’s, or other customer related change notices
  • Works with the Engineering Analysis group to ensure that all aspects of design development have been reviewed and approved to meet all customer, company, and legal requirements.
  • Communicates project status, progress on deliverables, and risks/issues.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of engineering experience within the automotive industry Experience with an automotive lighting manufacturer, or in the design of plastic parts is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of plastic injected molded components and their associated tooling
  • Ability to organize, plan, and handle multiple priorities
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Technical writing skills, Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
